He has a wide experience in the town-planning and financial industries. He began his career in 1960 in the Banco de Vizcaya as internal inspection manager until becoming Barcelona director. Afterwards in 1977 he was named Banco de Asturias manager. In 1980 he enters the recently restored Generalitat de Catalunya as Institut Català del Sòl director, autonomous organism in charge of creating and managing all the residential and industrial land developments, position that he held until 2006.
